What you get back
Whether you're refunded depends on the host's cancellation policy, shown on every event before you RSVP:
- Flexible — full refund up to 7 days before the event
- Standard — full refund up to 48 hours before
- Non-refundable — no refund
- Custom — the host sets their own terms (shown on the event)
Refunds are ultimately at the host's discretion. When you cancel within the policy window on a card payment, the refund is processed automatically through Stripe. For Venmo/Zelle/PayPal or cash, the host sends your refund back the same way you paid — and outside the window, any refund is up to the host.
What isn't refunded: the small service and card-processing fees aren't returned (the card networks keep their cut). You'll always see the exact refund amount before you confirm.
Need an exception, or a refund outside the policy? Contact the host — they can choose to refund you directly.
