Not sure of a date yet? Create a poll from Host → Polls → New poll, share it with your community, and convert the winning answer straight into an event — with one click, and the people who voted are notified automatically.
Creating a poll
Set a title, description, an optional cover image (same uploader as event covers), a timezone (candidate dates and times display in this timezone for every voter, regardless of their own), and an optional close date. You can add up to 20 candidate dates and up to 5 optional questions — venue, budget, whatever else you need an answer on. Questions come in four types: single choice, multi-choice, dropdown (a compact select, handy for long option lists), and short answer (voters type a free-text reply). Choice questions take up to 12 options each, and any question can carry its own image. You can also attach up to 6 images beyond the cover — useful when voters need to see the designs, venues, or menu items they're choosing between.
Two ways to ask about timing
Specific dates is the default: list exact candidate datetimes, and voters mark each one Yes / Maybe / No.
If your timing is flexible rather than a short list, switch to Schedule Heatmap instead. Pick candidate days plus a daily time window, and voters paint the 30-minute slots they can make across those days. Results render as a density grid — darker cells mean more people are free — and you click the busiest cell to convert straight into an event at that exact day and time.
Narrowing a heatmap's time window after people have already voted removes any painted votes that fall outside the new window, so results always reflect the current window.
Public vs. unlisted
A Public poll toggle lists it on Discover as a card badged "Poll." Leave it off and the poll is unlisted — reachable only by the share link, and viewers must sign in to see it even with the exact URL.
Results & who voted
Your poll's manage page shows live results — per-date Yes/Maybe tallies with a top pick (or the heatmap density grid), plus per-option counts for your questions — and a voter list, similar to an event's interested list, so you can see exactly who has responded. Individual answers stay aggregated; the roster tells you who voted, not how any one person answered.
While the poll is open, you'll get at most one email digest a day summarizing responses, and only on days with new votes since the last digest.
Closing & reopening
Close a poll manually anytime, or set a close date and let it happen automatically. A closed poll can be reopened. Closing freezes voting and makes results publicly visible on the poll page, even to people who haven't voted.
Converting to an event
Convert to event from the manage page — or any date's "Convert with this date" link, or a specific heatmap cell — lands you on the normal create-event form, pre-filled with the winning date, title, description, timezone, and cover image. Publish as usual, or save as a draft; if you save a draft, notifications wait until you publish.
Everyone who ticked "Notify me if this becomes an event" gets an in-app notification and a summary email (name, date & time, location, price) with an RSVP link, and is automatically added to the event as Interested.
After conversion
The poll's share link automatically forwards to the event page, so links you already shared keep working. If you later delete that event, the poll automatically reopens for voting and the link falls back to serving the poll — pick a new date and convert again whenever you're ready.
Re-converting to a new event within 24 hours of the original notification still adds opted-in voters as Interested, but doesn't send a second notification email so soon after the first. Past 24 hours, a re-conversion notifies as normal.
Polls are free and don't require Stripe.
