Refund & Cancellation Policy

Who sets the refund policy
Offkai is a platform — event hosts set their own refund and cancellation terms per event. The host's policy is shown on the event page before you RSVP. This page explains what each policy means and how Offkai's own non-refundable fees work.
Host-set cancellation policies
Each event uses one of four policies:
You can cancel your RSVP and receive a full refund of the ticket price up until 7 days before the event start time. Cancellations within 7 days are not eligible for a refund.
You can cancel and receive a full refund up until 48 hours before the event start time. Cancellations within 48 hours are not eligible for a refund.
Tickets are non-refundable. If you cancel your RSVP you will not receive a refund of the ticket price regardless of how far in advance you cancel.
The host has written their own cancellation terms. Click the cancellation-policy section on the event page to read them in full before RSVPing.
Platform and processing fees
The following fees are never refundable, regardless of which cancellation policy the host has set:
- Offkai platform fee ($0.35 per paid Stripe ticket) — covers platform infrastructure costs.
- Stripe card-processing fees — charged by Stripe at the time of payment; Stripe does not return processing fees on refunds. Hosts registered as 501(c)(3) nonprofits through Stripe may have different processing rates; the effective fee is determined by the host's Stripe account at the time of charge.
When a refund is issued, you receive back the ticket face value minus the above non-refundable amounts. The exact breakdown is shown at checkout before you pay.
Card payments (Stripe)
For events that accept card payment via Stripe, eligible refunds are processed automatically back to your original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
If a refund is issued after the event (e.g. event cancelled by the host), you will receive an email notification when the refund is processed.
External payment methods (Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, etc.)
For events that use external payment methods, Offkai does not process or hold funds. The transaction happens directly between you and the host outside of Offkai. Refunds for these methods are at the host's discretion and must be arranged directly with the host.
If you have a dispute about an external-method payment, contact the host first. If that fails, use the dispute process of the payment service you used (e.g. Venmo's or PayPal's buyer protection where applicable).
Event cancellation by the host
If a host cancels an event, all attendees with card-payment RSVPs are automatically refunded the ticket face value (platform and Stripe fees remain non-refundable). Attendees receive an email notification when the refund is processed.
For external-payment attendees, the host is responsible for issuing refunds directly. Offkai will notify attendees of the cancellation by email.
How to cancel your RSVP
Log in and go to My RSVPs to cancel. If the event's policy and timing make you eligible for a refund, it will be processed automatically. If you have trouble, contact the event host or email support@offkai.app.
