Progress updates let you keep supporters in the loop after you publish — a milestone reached, a venue confirmed, photos of what the money bought. They work on every event type.
Posting an update
Open your event dashboard and choose Post a progress update. On a standard event it sits in the Manage section once the event is published; on a fundraiser it's in the Transparency section. Give your update a title (up to 100 characters) and a message (up to 4,000 characters of text). The message supports formatting and photos, and photos are uploaded the same way as the images in your event description.
Who gets told
- Every confirmed attendee gets an in-app notification (the bell) as soon as you post, whether or not you send an email.
- Tick Also email supporters to send the update as an event message to your confirmed attendees too. The usual broadcast limits apply, and photos are left out of the email.
- Tick Supporters only to keep an update for confirmed supporters (signed in, with a confirmed RSVP or donation) and your hosts. Everyone else sees only its date, title and a Supporters only lock badge, with a note asking them to donate (or RSVP, on other event types) or sign in if they already have. Supporters see the same badge on the full update, and a shared link previews with the title and “Supporters-only update” instead of the message. You can change the setting when you edit the update; the bell notification and optional email still go to confirmed attendees as usual.
What supporters see
On your public event page the newest update shows in full under the event details. Earlier ones sit behind a button such as Show 2 earlier updates. Each update has share buttons (LINE, X, and copy link). A shared link opens the event page scrolled straight to that update and previews with your event's cover image. Updates are visible to anyone who can see the event (except the message of a supporters-only update), and they never show on drafts.
Adding a poll
Tick Add a poll when you post to ask supporters to choose between options, for example two venues or two shirt designs. Write a question, add 2 to 6 options, and pick a voting window (24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks). Only confirmed attendees (on a fundraiser, your confirmed supporters) can vote, one choice each, and they can change their vote until the poll closes. Voters see the running tally after they vote; everyone else sees the results once it closes. You can follow the count from the event page and end a poll early from the list of posted updates. A poll can't be edited after you post it, so delete the update and post a new one if you need different options. When a poll closes, everyone who voted gets a notification linking to the results.
Editing or deleting
Reopen Post a progress update to edit or delete anything you've already posted. Changes appear on the event page right away, and editing never sends the email again.
